The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

Sometimes the best escape from the city is some lush and gorgeous greenery.  The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is a beautiful collection of trees, flowers, and local plants that exist in the area.  Not only do you get to explore and learn more about these regional greens, but you also get to enjoy sitting back and taking a breath of fresh air in a space filled with plants that constantly filter out the air.  Everything about this greenhouse is beautiful, and it’s worth a visit.

Perot Museum of Nature and Science

The outside of this building is an incredible feat of imagination and engineering, both whimsical and brutal looking against the Dallas cityscape.  Inside, that theme is continued!  Gorgeously kept fossils are on display here, showing the form and size of dinosaurs, Mammoths, and other creatures that used to roam this land.  You can learn about how they lived and died and enjoy scientific explanations about how we got where we are today.

Six Flags Over Texas

If you need something thrilling to do before heading back to searching for Arlington apartments, why not stop in at Six Flags Over Texas!  This amusement park has attractions that will get your heart beating like wild and your throat hurting from shouting in excitement.  This park is fantastic for someone of any age, so don’t’ be afraid to stop in and let out your inner kid!

Kimbell Art Museum

Whether you’ve never seen a Monet painting in person or you’re curious about seeing work by Michaelangelo, the Kimbell Art Museum has it for you.  Every inch of this museum is stunning inside and out, and the beautiful art and sculptures that call it home are mesmerizing as you walk by them.  It may take some time to get used to being so close to these pieces, and some may seem smaller than photos led on, but this is a museum that everyone should visit at least once.

Dinosaur Valley State Park

If you’re bringing your kids with you, or you have a love for the giant creatures that once roamed the earth: visit the Dinosaur Valley, State Park!  Every inch of this park is fun and dinosaur-themed, with large sculptures of prehistoric animals sitting all over the park to surprise and amaze you.  While you’re here, you can see incredibly well-preserved dinosaur tracks and enjoy a long hike beside a river that’s famous for dropping fossils on its shores.
