FOR THE IMAGE VILLAGE - A MANIFESTO - <a href="http://www.fotolog.net/_pixelsnstones/">_pixels*N*stones</a>
We live in the midst of Colossal Image Machines that are Corporate & Global - radiating us with highly manufactured images.
These images fuel the Global Consumerism & Economy that is physically altering our planet, our sense of self and all of the world`s cultures.
In its face we each are as vulnerable as the most innocent of primitive peoples in their first contact with the historical onslaught that dates to Columbuss arrival in the New World.
Today this imaging transcends all languages and the scope of its effect is unprecedented in human history.
Their infection - more virulent than smallpox rages over the earth from the most sophisticated mega cities to the remotest rainforest villages.
Fotolog with its democracy of picture takers and image artists is such fresh air. It is simultaneously Global and Local.
See the very number of languages that are dialoging with each other and how their images themselves reflect the cultures their makers inhabit.
Compare the images coming out of The Netherlands with the images from Brazil for example. Or the pix from Japan with the ones from San Francisco.
As we drink in the images on Fotolog as they impact our way of seeing as we participate in this dialog of image posting - note if it effects the way you observe the Torrential Onslaught of commercial images subverting our neurons - on commercial television and throughout the rest of our highly logo infested world.
From car commercials to the Image Bites they rain down in the American version of the News.
In the meantime seeing all of your images here is so much better then the TUBE.
