flea market finds (5 of 6): another pair of vintage glasses.
when i first started collecting vintage glasses around 12 years ago, i would find 3 or 4 of them at once in thrift stores for around $3 each. they`d almost always have a punch label on the arm of the glasses with a person`s name on one side and phone # on the other. i liked knowing the name of the person who owned them before me. but it was bittersweet, because the fact that they were in the thrift store probably meant the owner had passed on.
i haven`t really added to my vintage eyeglass collection for the past few years, because now they`re found mostly in "vintage shops" for at least $20--with the punch labels cleanly scrubbed off. so when i saw these frames at the flea market yesterday, once belonging to a lady surnamed "stone", i had to get them.
